(ECNS) – Three photos of a gray-haired man in a Minnie Mouse costume on the street was posted on Wednesday, touching millions of netizens and generating over 2 million comments on Sina Weibo, Chongqing Morning Post reported.

Two photos showed the man in costume hanging around on a street, and a third photo revealed the person to be an old man.

Netizen Tianxiadiyishenmao posted the photos, saying, "He looks cute, but I feel sad."

He said the photos were taken in Chongqing last April, and hoped the post would bring some help from the public.

Zhang Shizhong, 68, said he wore the costume on the street to let tourists take photos with the cartoon figure in order to earn some tips.

He could earn 200 to 300 yuan per month, he added. But the job wasn't easy.

Last August, Zhang was forced by his children to quit doing that work. "They feared I might be beat up."

But his children aren't rich, as they are construction workers who earn about 100 yuan a day, Zhang added.
