San Francisco (CNS) -- The FBI has put down the wrong name on a legal document for the arson suspect in the Chinese consulate fire in San Francisco. This was confirmed by the consulate Monday, as it said the suspect's name should be Yanfeng Feng, not Yan Feng.

The clerical error has led to erroneous reports in nearly all news items related to the case.

Yanfeng Feng, 39, from China, obtained legal US permanent resident status in 2004. He is accused of parking a van in front of the consulate building, then pouring two cans of petrol on the main gate and setting it ablaze.
