(ECNS) -- Students at the Hubei University of Education in Wuhan, Hubei province, have built a miniature Yellow Crane Tower with 3,000 chopsticks and 1,000 toothpicks, the Wuhan Evening News said on Tuesday.
The Yellow Crane Tower is a historic structure built in 223 AD. The one-meter tall replica took architecture students two weeks to make.
The pillars are made of thick chopsticks, while the walls, doors, windows, and roofing tiles are made of thinner chopsticks. The eaves are made of toothpicks.
"We cut the chopsticks and toothpicks to appropriate lengths with scissors, then we glued the parts together with adhesive," said Shang Pin, a student who participated in making the model.
The mini tower is an entry for an upcoming architecture model contest hosted by the university's department of architecture.
