Man and his pregnant wife jump to their deaths   

重庆一对夫妻跳崖双双遇难 女子已怀孕3个月

(ECNS) – A young couple in their early 20s committed suicide by jumping off a cliff in Wuxi county, Chongqing, late Saturday, and the wife was three months pregnant.

The wife, surnamed Li, 22, died at the scene. The husband, surnamed Yang, 25, was caught in a tree on the side of the cliff. Later rescue firefighters confirmed his death, and carried his body down the next day.

Yang's younger brother witnessed the couple's commitment.

Yang had informed him by phone of their suicide plan and asked him to take their bodies, the brother said. As he arrived at the scene, the couple were already jumping.

An investigation found the couple decided to kill themselves after quarreling with family. Further investigation is underway.
