Girl invents spiked vest to repel sex offenders

(ECNS) – A female student at the National University of Singapore has invented a vest for subway passengers to keep fellow passengers at arm's length, sex offenders in particular, according to Taiwan media.

The inventor named Siew Ming Chen said she was inspired by clothing in science fiction films and hedgehogs.

The vest called "Spike Away" resembles armor, but is made of plastic with protruding flexible spikes.
