(ECNS) -- In an effort to give back to society, a migrant worker-turned-businessman from Sichuan province helped build 69 villas in his hometown.

Tang Guo, a farmer from Gaoxing village, Gaoxing town, Huaying city in Sichuan province, left his hometown in 1993 to work in the city. Tang worked at a construction cite and was promoted to manage the projects. In 2008, Tang started his own company, which developed more than 20 subsidiaries.

After making his riches, Tang and his wife decided to make a contribution to their hometown—Gaoxing village.

The couple decided to invest 30 million yuan ($4.9 million) in building a modern residential community to improve living conditions in the village. Construction kicked off in the spring of 2012.

The modern community features 69 villas, and various living and production facilities. The villas will be ready for move-in before the lunar new year, which will be Jan 14, 2014.
