(ECNS) – Two pieces of furniture made by Li Changchun, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, are on display at the China Red Sandalwood Museum in Beijing, according to the Beijing Times.
Li made the bookcase and wardrobe in the late 1960s to early 70s with timber from wooden crates given to him as firewood from a factory where he worked.
Li had kept the furniture for over 40 years and it remains in good condition.
The concisely designed but functional pieces embody the style of the period, even though the timbers aren't as precious as red sandalwood.
