(ECNS) – A number of petitions were filed on many social networks and online forums, against racist remarks aired live on ABC-TV (American Broadcasting Co), US-based China Press reported.

The remarks came from a Kid's Table Show on Jimmy Kimmel Live, with four kids discussing how to deal with the US government's shutdown.

When the host asked for suggestions on paying back the nation's debt to China, one suggested they build a huge wall, while another boy said it should "kill all the Chinese."

The remarks outraged Chinese in the US.

A man surnamed Zhang, who posted a petition on bbs.pku.edu.cn, said if "Chinese" had been switched to any other race in the same statement, the show would not have been aired.

"By airing the show, Kimmel (the host) and ABC management have endorsed the racially inflammatory statement made by the kids. It's disturbing and unacceptable."

The "Investigate Jimmy Kimmel Kid's Table Government Shutdown Show on ABC Network" petition on whitehouse.gov has received about 4,000 signatures.

Discussions on this issue were also held in online forums. Many netizens expressed outrage over the remark. "They [the kids] probably heard Obama talking about bombing Syria," one commented.
