(ECNS) -- A golden retriever that won more than 20 championships was sold for 1.18 million yuan ($192,775) at a pet expo in Southwest China's Chongqing, Chongqing Evening News said.
Liu Zaichun, former owner of Jin Chan, said the 2-year-old dog, or 18 in people age, has never been sick and has four offspring.
Thanks to the pure bloodline and tough training, Jin Chan was crowned champion at the 2013 CKU (China Kennel Union) Chongqing Fuling Annual Show held at the expo, Liu said, adding that more than 20 championships in the past gave Jin Chan the title of super champion.
Liu said Jin Chan was bred in Beijing and insists on running every day regardless of the weather, half the time with a marching soldier stance. The dog also has undergone stand-still training.
Furthermore, Jin Chan is fed regularly to stay fit, he said, and that all these factors help him stand out in competitions.
Liu said Jin Chan will become a good family member after several months. It will be a happy life for Jin Chan, but it will still participate in major shows in the future, according to the contract, he added.
