(ECNS) -- A couple who share the same name of "Chen Bin" and were both born in 1967 in Chongqing Municipality have had a happy marriage for 21 year, according to the Chongqing Evening News.

The pair's romance began in 1987 when the husband transferred to the wife's class in Jiangbei High School.

They began dating after graduation from high school and tied the knot in 1992. The wife said at first the two families opposed the marriage because they lived in different cities. "I thought it was destined that we would become a couple, so I made my decision to marry her," the husband said.

The couple is called "Male Bin" and "Female Bin" by friends when they appear together.

Their daughter said she is proud of having two same-name parents.

Only two other same-name couples have been reported by media, the newspaper said.
