Beijing (CNS) -- China is expected to need more than 5,000 aircraft in the next 20 years, according to a market outlook released by Boeing Co. in Beijing on Thursday.

China will need 5,580 new aircraft, valued at $780 billion, during that period, the outlook said.

Driven by the country's rising economy and improved aviation services, China's air-traffic volume is expected to grow by nearly 7 percent each year, according to Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, at a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.

Long-haul international traffic to and from China is forecast to grow at an annual rate of 7.2 percent, primarily driven by passenger traffic gains between China and North America, Europe, the Middle East, Oceania and Africa.

Thanks to the booming tourism in China and travel in Asia, China's total deliveries for single airplanes will reach 3,900 by the year 2032, Tinseth added.

The market outlook also forecasts China's civil aviation fleet to triple in the next two decades.
