San Francisco (CNS) -- MIT Technology Review on Thursday released its annual list of "35 Top Innovators Under the Age of 35," which includes six Chinese inventors.

The six Chinese honorees are Hao Li, assistant professor at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering; Feng Zhang, assistant professor at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT; Liangfang Zhang, nanoengineering professor at UC San Diego; Bowen Zhao, researcher at the institute of BGI-Shenzhen; Xiaolin Zheng, associate professor at Stanford University's department of Mechanical Engineering; and Yu Zheng, lead researcher for Microsoft Research Asia.

Among all of the 35 inventors on the list, Bowen Zhao, 21, is the youngest.

The nominees will attend an award ceremony to be held in Boston in October this year.

As one of the world's most prestigious journal in scientific and technology, MIT's Technology Review focuses on how scientific innovations in the fields of biomedicine, communications, materials, and computing are changing our world.

The "Innovator Under 35" award was started in 1999.
