(ECNS) -- The man who injured 11 people with a meat cleaver on a bus in Hong Kong has no previous history of mental illness, according to local police on Wednesday.
The man, 57, took out a cleaver and attacked fellow employees at around 7:30 Tuesday morning on a highway in rural Tuen Mun district. The bus had been hired by a fruit company to carry employees to work.
Most of the victims suffered only minor injuries and were sent to hospital for treatment.
The man was subdued by passengers and arrested by police later.
A further investigation into the man's motive is still underway.
