(ECNS) -- The manufacturer of Huanghelou (Yellow Crane Tower) cigarette said the new brand "Chinese Dream" is not a formal product, and the whopping price rumor was also untrue, according to people.com.cn.

A person in charge of Hubei China Tobacco Industry Corp said the "Chinese Dream" cigarette was a creative product proposed and designed by the company's staff representatives on their own, not on the company's behalf.

There is no barcode or health warning on the cigarette packaging, and Internet rumors about the price of the cigarettes being 1,000 yuan ($163) were groundless, he said.

After testing and development, the company will design the packaging, survey the target market, and apply for a trademark registration, he added.

Only after all that work is done will they put a new product on the market.
