HK Disneyland's 'Mystic Point'opens to public

Hong Kong (CNS) -- Hong Kong Disneyland's newly added scenic spot "Mystic Point," which opened Friday, is expected to attract over 1,000 more visitors to the park every hour.

An opening ceremony for the new themed area was held Thursday.

"Mystic Point" represents the final phase of Hong Kong Disneyland's current expansion plan, which commenced in 2009.

The expansion project has increased the size of the park by nearly 25 percent. The project also includes two other themed areas, "Toy Story Land" which opened in November 2011 and "Grizzly Gulch" which opened in July 2012.

In the last financial year ending in September 2012, visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland increased by 13 percent to 6.7 million. For the first time since opening in 2005, the park also made a net profit.
