(ECNS) -- A special walking festival kicked off at the Olympic Park in Beijing on Saturday, where 500 hikers attended.
According to the festival rules, hikers had to finish the five kilometer route within a set time. Those who finished the route got certificates from the program's organizer.
The event was designed to use the scenic resources of the city to improve the cultural lives of residents in Beijing, the organizer said on Saturday.
The event was hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Forestry.
