Taiwan to accept students from Fujian, Guangdong

台北消息：继2011年开放大陆学生赴台就读学士以上学位后，台“教育部”今年将试办招收大陆专科生赴台就读二年制学士班(专升本)，首年限福建、广东2省，名额为955名。

Hong Kong (CNS) -- Taiwan's "education ministry" will launch a pilot project this year to recruit junior college students from the mainland to attend two-year undergraduate programs in Taiwan, according to Taiwan media Thursday.

A total of 73 colleges in Taiwan will accept 955 students from the mainland.

The pilot program applies only to students from Fujian and Guangdong provinces.

The program can help promote exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and the mainland in the field of education, according to the ministry on Thursday.

Students who apply for the program must provide an asset certificate of 100,000 yuan ($16,222).
