Beijing’s Palace Museum director to visit Taiwan

北京故宫博物院院长单霁翔应台北故宫博物院院长冯明珠的邀请,将于4月18日率团赴台湾访问5天。

Beijing (CNS) -- Shan Jixiang, director of Beijing's Palace Museum, will make a five-day visit to Taiwan at the invitation of Fung Ming-Chu, director of the Taipei Palace Museum.

It's Shan's first trip to Taiwan as director of the museum, according to an official at Beijing's Palace Museum on Tuesday.

Shan and his delegation will arrive in Taipei at noon Thursday. That afternoon, Shan will visit the Taipei Palace Museum and deliver a speech.

On Friday, Shan will attend a meeting jointly held by the two museums. They will discuss details concerning a special exhibition called The Artistic Taste of Emperor Qian Long, which is scheduled for October at the Taipei museum. A press conference will be held after the meeting.

Shan will also visit several scenic spots in Taipei, Kaohsiung, and Chiayi county.
