China Guardian's spring auction set for May

Beijing (CNS) - The China Guardian 2013 Spring Auctions, which will feature nearly 3,900 items, will be launched on May 7 in Beijing.

The painting Jieyin Temple at Mount Emei by the renowned artist Zhang Daqian is estimated to sell at 28 million yuan, which is expected to be the most expensive item on offer at the auction.

As the first auction company on the Chinese mainland, China Guardian sees the 20th anniversary of its founding this year. It collected over 3,900 pieces for the spring auction.

The items include Chinese paintings, calligraphy, porcelain, furniture, works of art, modern and contemporary arts and crafts, Chinese oil paintings, sculpture, rare books, manuscripts, jewelry and watches.

The modern and contemporary arts and crafts include 38 pieces of items from prominent artists of the 20th century, such as Zhang Daqian, Qi Baishi, Pan Tianshou and Xu Beihong.

The preview will take place on May 7- 9 and the auction on May 10-14.
