United Nations (CNS) -- The UN Postal Administration (UNPA) on Thursday issued a set of commemorative stamps featuring "world heritage sites in China".

Images of six heritage sites in China -- the Great Wall, Mount Huangshan, the Mogao Caves, Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace, Imperial Palace, and Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor -- were selected for the new stamps to show the long history of Chinese civilization.

David Failor, chief of the United Nations Postal Administration, and Li Xiaomei, representative of the Chinese delegation to the United Nations, jointly unveiled the stamps.

"There are more than 40 natural and human landscapes in China included on the world heritage list, and the six sites are the essence of the heritages," said Sergio Baradat, designer of the stamps.
