Beijing (CNS) -- Gold medalists at the London Olympics, including the mainland's "Dream Team" divers, will visit Taiwan in October, the Chinese Olympic Committee said on Thursday.

Song Keqin, deputy secretary-general of the committee, said they will organize Olympic gold medalists to visit Taiwan for the fifth time, mainly the diving team and synchronized swimming team. This is the first visit to Taiwan by the Dream Team divers, she added.

Two performances are planned in Taipei and Kaohsiung, Song said. Wu Minxia, Qin Kai, He Zi, Wang Ruolin, Wang Hao, and other divers will take part.

Sports activities focusing on cross-Straits communications have gone smoothly, Song said. Besides the visit by the gold medalists, Olympic committees across the Straits organized training camps for both players and coaches, as well as seminars on the sports industry and sports technology research, she added.

Sports associations from both sides also organized competitions, improving regional sports communication across the Straits, she said.

"We look forward to continuing to promote communication with a more practical attitude," Song said.
