Shenzhen (CNS) -- South China's Shenzhen denied media reports that it was imposing a local "price increase restriction" on homes since last week.

The city's Urban Planning Land and Resources Commission said on its official blog on Sina that the city did not enforce any new policy on curbing property prices and that it will stick to the existing one.

It said that in the past two years, the city has implemented rules issued by the State Council, which requires prices for all properties to be marked clearly and be consistent. The city also encouraged real estate developers to price new homes reasonably, it added.

Since Tuesday, reports had spread widely online that Shenzhen has imposed a policy that bars any monthly increases in the average price of new residential projects.
