Xiamen (CNS) -- A total of 40 foreign teachers and students from the On-air Confucius Institute of China Radio International (CRI) arrived in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Thursday.

The group is comprised of people from nine countries, including Pakistan, Russia, Mongolia, Kenya, Japan, Bangladesh, Italy, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

They are attending a spring camp hosted by the institute since last month. Xiamen is their second stop after a visit to Beijing.

The foreign students toured Xiamen University yesterday and met with students there.

During their stay, the students will attend some cultural courses, including the Chinese language and martial arts. They will stay in Xiamen for three days.

In the last five years since the launch of the CRI On-air Confucius Institute, 12 on-air classrooms have been established with some 12,000 students from overseas.
