China’s US debt holding reaches record high   

中国持美债总额破1.2万亿美元 仍为最大债权国

美国财政部15日公布的初步统计数据显示，2012年12月，中国大幅增持197亿美元美债，持有总额突破1.2万亿大关并创全年新高。

Washington (CNS) -- China's holding of United States government debt reached a record high last December, the Treasury Department disclosed Friday.

China's US Treasury holdings reached $1.2 trillion, up by $19.7 billion, the department said.

It was the third consecutive month for China to increase its holdings.

Other major creditors also increased their holdings of US debt in 2012, which demonstrated their confidence in the country's economic future.
