Zhengzhou (CNS) -- An "emperor style" bath offered by a spa in central China's Henan province has aroused strong public opposition.

Donning an emperor's crown, a man spent 100,000 yuan (US$16,041) on the bath in Lushan county, accompanied by two scantily clad "concubines."

Most of the people interviewed in Huicheng city opposed the extravagance and questioned the bathhouse's motives.

Wang Leng, a professor at the Henan University of Economics and Law, said the bath caters to China's "imperial complex."
