Xi'an (CNS) -- Three police officers in northwest China's Shaanxi province have been suspended for their involvement in the multiple number of household registrations (hukou) held by a former bank executive, local authorities said on Wednesday.

The suspended officers include the vice director of Shaanxi's Shenmu County Police Station.

Gong Aiai, the former deputy chief of the Shenmu Rural Commercial Bank, is accused of holding four hukou, one in Beijing and three in Shenmu county. She reportedly used some of them to purchase expensive real estate, including 20 properties worth 1 billion yuan in Beijing.

One of the hukou, registered under the alias "Gong Xianxia," and two transferred from Shanxi province have been cancelled, police said.
