Tokyo (CNS)-- Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua said on Tuesday that he hopes China and Japan can work together to solve the current dispute, and that the two countries will remain committed to friendly exchanges in 2013.

"China values its relationship with Japan," Chen said at a New Year banquet in Tokyo held by the Japan-China Economic Association and the Japan International Trade Promotion Association.

We hope to work in collaboration with the Japanese side to further deepen the strategic relationship of mutual benefit between the two countries based on the four political documents between China and Japan, he added.

Cheng listed three proposals to boost the relationship between the two countries:

First, China and Japan should work to solve the current dispute in a proper manner. Second, the two countries should remain committed to building a win-win scenario which will benefit both sides. Third, the two countries should continue to conduct friendly exchanges to further promote the bilateral relationship.
