Beijing (CNS) – According to the 2012 China Charity Transparency Report released Saturday, 61 percent of those polled are not satisfied with the transparency of China's public charity organizations. The figure was 92 percent in 2011.

The report, which was directed and published by the China Charity Information Center under the Ministry of Civil Affairs, selected 500 charity organizations across the country. It then analyzed transparency based on the following four aspects: integrity, timeliness, accuracy and convenience of public access.

Last year, Chinese charities performed better in integrity and convenience of public access, but not in timeliness and accuracy, the report said.

The report also found that the bigger an organization is, the more attention it pays to information disclosure.

The report calls for national standards on charity information disclosure, industry supervision and management to ensure healthy development.
