Mo Yan named ‘brand’ person of the year

由中国国际商会与品牌中国产业联盟联合主办的第十五届品牌中国高峰论坛19日落幕。2012品牌中国年度人物同时在京出炉，莫言众望所归位居榜首。

Beijing (CNS) -- Mo Yan was named Person of the Year at the 15th Brand China Summit which concluded Wednesday in Beijing.

This year features the transformation of the socio-economic development of China, so candidates for the list should also embody the spirit of transformation, according to the program's organizer.

Mo Yan's winning the Nobel Literature Prize is a landmark in terms of China's "go-global" strategy for its culture, he added.

The summit was co-hosted by the Brand China Industry Union and the China Chamber of International Commerce.
