Changchun (CNS) -- The northeastern Chinese province of Jilin is still suffering the aftereffects of several rounds of blizzards.

Snowstorms this winter have left as much as 41 mm of precipitation, up 147 percent from the average amount during the same periods in the past 30 years, according to the local meteorological department.

The latest blizzard ended Tuesday, but transportation systems in many of the province's cities have not resumed due to icy roads. Many highways are closed and numerous flights have been delayed or cancelled.

Large icicles hanging from eaves continue to pose a threat to citizens and vehicles.

Many parts of Jilin will see more storms in the following two or three days, according to meteorological authorities.
