Zhengzhou (CNS) -- A county police chief in Henan Province was dismissed Tuesday after a video last week exposed his subordinates engaging in illegal activity, the provincial Public Security Department said on Wednesday.

Bai Yong, director of the public security bureau of Huojia County, and Zhang Guofang, team leader of a local traffic police detachment, have both been removed from office.

On November 19, a netizen posted 54 sections of a 334-minute video showing Huojia traffic police issuing illegal tickets to drivers. The video aroused wide public attention.

On November 21, Zhang Qilong, deputy chief of the county's public security bureau, was suspended from his duties. Four policemen and five police assistants were also dismissed.

Further investigation is underway, local authorities said.
