Bird watching peaks at Yellow River Delta

“快看，有4只丹顶鹤在芦苇丛里站着，姿态真美！”12日上午，山东省东营市观鸟协会的40余名观鸟爱好者来到黄河三角洲黄河口生态旅游区观鸟，众多的鸟儿让爱好者们兴奋不已、流连忘返。

Jinan (CNS) -- Bird-watching enthusiasts flocked to the Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve on Monday morning.

The delta has entered its annual zenith for bird watching. Covering 153,000 hectares, the reserve is a popular habitat and "halfway house" for the red-crowned crane, oriental white stork, white-naped crane, grey crane and others.

At present, there are already 800 whooper swans frolicking at the reserve, the first batch to settle here this year.
