Projects worth $1.2 bln signed at Sino-DPRK expo  

“中朝博览会”经贸合作签约逾12亿美元

作为首届中朝经贸文化旅游博览会活动之一的“2012中国(丹东)对朝经贸合作说明会暨中朝经贸项目签约仪式”,14日在辽宁丹东召开,博览会共达成72个经贸合作意向,合作金额逾12亿美元。

Dandong (CNS) – China and the the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) signed 72 economic and trade cooperation agreements worth a total of US$1.26 billion at a trade expo on Sunday.

The expo was part of the China-DPRK Economic, Trade, Cultural and Tourism Expo which kicked off Friday in Dandong, northeast China's Liaoning Province.

Although uncertainties in international trade have been on the rise, the economic relationship between China and the DRPK, particularly between Dandong and the DPRK, has remained strong, said Shi Guang, mayor of Dandong, at the signing ceremony.

With the theme of "friendship, cooperation and development," the five-day expo has attracted more than 6,000 businessmen from 20 countries. A DPRK delegation of about 500 attended.
