Hong Kong (CNS) -- To celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a grand fireworks display will be held at Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong at 9 p.m. on October 1, China's National Day.

Over 23,888 fireworks will be set off during the 23-minute display, which will feature eight scenes.

CPPCC 'fraternity associations' at all levels in Hong Kong and Guangdong have reportedly raised 6 million Hong Kong dollars (US$774,000) for this year's fireworks extravaganza.
