Wangfujing to be ‘top business passageway’  

北京王府井大街将扩容80万平米成纯高端消费商街

素有“金街”之称的王府井大街，到2015年将新增建筑面积80万平方米，届时，每200米有一处主题中心或商贸中心。同时，将联手金宝街缔造“顶级商业走廊”。这是记者从11日举行的第三届王府井国际品牌节发布会上获悉的。

Beijing (CNS) – A vast area of 800,000 square meters will be added to Wangfujing Street by 2015, making it a "top business passageway," officials said on Tuesday at a press conference for the upcoming Third Beijing Wangfujing International Brand Festival.

Wangfujing Street is home to major international brands of clothing, watches and cosmetics, as well as many time-honored Chinese brands, said Piao Xuedong, deputy governor of Dongcheng District.

Jinbao Street, which is part of the Wangfujing Business District, has already attracted world luxury brands such as Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. It will have five hotels and three high-end malls, Piao added.

Wangfujing is one of Beijing's most famous shopping areas, much of which has been pedestrianized.

The Third Beijing Wangfujing International Brand Festival will last 11 days starting from September 15.
