Chinese patrol ship finishes US journey  

中国海事执法船首次访美“台前幕后”

8日下午，中国海事执法船“海巡31”号结束为期5天的访美之旅，启程返回广东珠海高栏海巡基地。它的身后留下数个“第一”——这是中国海事执法船首次访美，也是中国海事执法船首次携带舰载直升机出访乃至首次进行穿越东西半球的长途航行。

Honolulu (CNS) – The Haixun 31, the first vessel to the US sent by the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration (MSA), finished its five-day trip and departed for Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, on Saturday afternoon.

The Haixun 31 is also the first Chinese maritime vessel to pay a foreign visit across the eastern and western hemispheres with helicopters onboard.

Along with US counterparts, the vessel conducted a joint search and rescue table top exercise and an on-water exercise in Honolulu on September 6.

The rescue course was pretty intense as the waves and wind were strong, but thanks to sound preparation and on-site flexibility, we managed to complete the rescue, said Wu Jiansheng, who is in charge of the vessel.
