广东投资26亿改造棚户区 原住居民可低价购买

投资达26亿元人民币的广东省规模最大的棚户区改造项目5日在韶关正式开工，该项目建成后，1万多户居住环境恶劣的棚户区原住居民可用低廉的价格购买新房。

Shaoguan (CNS) -- The largest-ever shantytown reconstruction project by Guangdong Province started Wednesday in the prefecture-level city of Shaoguan.

Residents of more than 10,000 households will be able to purchase new houses at low prices when the 2.6-billion-yuan project is completed.

Shaoguan is home to a number of traditional industries and about 50,000 workers from formerly state-owned enterprises. The majority still live in slums built in the 1960s and '70s.

The project covers an area of 66.67 hectares and aims to build 12,500 residential units.
