Zhengzhou (CNS) -- The 2nd Session of the National Juvenile Justice Forum was held Sunday in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, attended by over 160 law experts, scholars and judges from the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

The criminal records of minors should be sealed, as negative information may adversely affect their future lives, said professor Gao Weijian from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law.

Cases involving defendants under 18 years old should not be heard openly, and their real names should not be released to the public, Gao added.

In addition, minors should be given every chance to re-adapt to society when they get out of prison, said Lu Yingxia, a justice from Macau.
