广东南雄建筑工地发现大型宋窑

广东南雄站前路附近的建筑工地近日发掘出大量陶碗、陶瓶和陶瓷碎片。中国古陶瓷协会专家郭惠雄19日在发掘现场向记者表示，可以肯定该处为宋代大型民窑。

Shaoguan (CNS) -- A construction site in Nanxiong, a county-level city in Guangdong Province, has been confirmed as the location of a large kiln from the Song Dynasty, according to Guo Huixiong, an expert from the China Ancient Ceramics Research Association.

Many pieces of ancient clayware and pottery fragments from the Song have been found at the Zhanqian Road site, Guo said Sunday.

Guo said the kiln witnessed the Guangfu people's southern migration and has a high archaeological and cultural value. It should be reported to superior organizations and excavated by specialists, he added.
