Officials reflect soberly on severe traffic accidents   

郑州连发四宗交通事故36人伤亡 政府官员被约谈

两个多月以来，河南省省会郑州市区连发四宗重特大道路交通事故，共造成36人伤亡。8月1日，河南省政府就此约谈郑州市政府官员和相关负责人。

Zhengzhou (CNS) -- Four severe road accidents, each causing more than three deaths and together leading to 18 fatalities and 18 injured, took place in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, between May and July.

On August 1, the provincial government had a meeting with vice mayor Zhang Xuejun, while officials of the city's public security department and the traffic police department observed. Zhang promised more attention would be paid to traffic security and a review of management factors that may have an impact on the situation.

Of the four road accidents, the July 27 event was the most severe: a cement tanker collided with a cargo tricycle, causing seven deaths and 14 injuries.
