Quanzhou (CNS) -- July 22 was a hot summer day as is usual in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, and a sanitation worker surnamed Tian sought relief at a stall with the sign "free tea."

In this establishment at the entrance to a little alley way, Tian filled her thermos with the warm beverage and started a casual conversation with the proprietress, senior in years. Tian has worked nearby for three years, and almost every day she visits the free-tea stall when feeling exhausted or thirsty.

The aged couple who own the stall, Huang Apo and Su Abo, have offered tea free of charge to all comers since 1995.

"Long ago, my mother took me to visit relatives when I was a little girl, I became thirsty when we passed through a mountainous area. Luckily we saw a stall offering free tea," said Huang, "and the moment I drank it, I was determined I would do the same good deed some day."
