Fushun (CNS) -- The Aisin Gioro family are Qing (1644–1911) imperial descendants and with hundreds of Manchu ethnic people worship their ancestors at the World Heritage Yongling Tomb in Fushun, Liaoning Province, as they did this Saturday.

The ceremony was held in a traditional way in both the Manchu and Mandarin languages.

Aisin Gioro Qixiang, an offspring of the Qing royal family, is now in his 60s. He attended the ceremony to express his gratitude to the locals for their ongoing protection of the tomb and to encourage fellow members of his minority group to treasure both the physical and spiritual cultural inheritance passed on from ancient times.

Aisin Gioro Heng told CNS that he has been lecturing on his own culture around Hong Kong, Changchun and other mainland citie,s and advocating Manchu language school construction in Manchu counties and towns to nourish the youngest of their ethnic group in their own language and cultural inheritance.

The ceremony has loyally abided by the ancient ethnic rules and etiquette, was an admiring comment made by Secretary-general Shang Hai with the Center for Overseas Chinese Research, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
