广东首张政策性森林保险单金额高达1.5亿元

广东省林业厅2日宣布，全省政策性森林保险首张保单当天正式签订，投保面积逾30万亩，保险金额达1.5亿元人民币，标志着广东政策性森林保险正式进入实际运行阶段。

Guangzhou (CNS) -- The Guangdong Department of Forestry announced that the province's first forestry insurance was signed into being on Monday, with a premium of 150 million yuan offered for forest cover of 300,000 mu (20,000 hectares).

The policy protects forest workers from losses due to accidents in fires, mudflows and other natural disasters.

The government-funded insurance compensates commercial forests by up to 70 percent of losses and ecological forests by 100 percent.

The most significant forest zones are included in the plan, covering about 61 percent of provincial forests. The plan is still in the bidding phase.
