Electricity industry open to private capital   

电监会：支持民间资本投资电力 开放电力市场

中国国家电监会19日透露，为支持民间资本投资电力，根据《国务院关于鼓励和引导民间投资健康发展的若干意见》，电监会最新发布《关于加强电力监管支持民间资本投资电力的实施意见》(以下简称《实施意见》)。业内人士称，此举将进一步开放中国电力市场，推进电价改革。

Beijing (CNS) -- On Tuesday, the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) released its official policy on seeking private capital for the electricity industry.

Industry insiders expect the policy to create a positive investment environment for private capital sources.

Admittance thresholds for wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, small hydro as well as other new and recyclable energy firms will be adjusted in favor of private investors.

The authority will relax their control and supervision over electricity prices and charges to ensure fair markets for private power generation firms.
