Hong Kong (CNS) -- Shenzhou-9, with its crew of three astronauts, successfully docked with the Tiangong-1 space lab module on Monday afternoon. The three astronauts will conduct 15 experiments relating to space medicine.

Research on the physical and psychological reactions of astronauts is urgently needed, especially studies to fill the gaps in knowledge regarding female physiology and psychology in space, said Qin Ling, professor of Medical School, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUH).

Medical departments of the CUH and China Cosmonaut Training Center have been working together for many years to conduct exhaustive studies on how the state of weightlessness affects the body and mind.
