Yellow River starts sediment control  

黄河13次“冲澡”洗出泥沙7.62亿吨

从6月19日开始，黄河防总将实施黄河2012年汛前调水调沙。自2002年始，黄河水利委员会已连续组织开展了13次黄河“冲澡、净身”，利用大流量冲刷河道，累计入海总沙量达7.62亿吨。

Zhengzhou (CNS) --The Yellow River Flood Control Headquarters started water-sediment regulations Tuesday.

The headquarters said Monday that the water-sediment regulation will run for about 20 days through the reservoirs of Wanjiazhai, Sanmen Gorge and Xiaolangdi. The maximum flow will be controlled at 4,000 cubic meters per second at Huayuankou.

Since 2002, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission has removed 762 million tons of sediment from rivers.
