国家防总10日晚发布消息,6月9日~10日,江西、湖南、贵州等三省部分地区先后出现大范围强降雨过程,由此造成洪涝灾害,约70万人受灾。

Beijing (CNS) -- Strong rainfall in Jiangxi, Hunan and Guizhou provinces over the weekend caused flooding and affected 700,000 people, according to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters on Saturday.

In Jiangxi Province, maximum point precipitation reached 159 mm. Hunan reported 252 mm and Guizhou 287 mm.

Water levels in medium and small rivers in the region rose immediately, yet worse flooding occurred at the middle reaches of the Xinjiang River and upstream in the Ganjiang River.

According to preliminary statistics, rainfall in Jiangxi Province affected 296,000 people, with 2,800 people evacuated and direct economic losses reaching 283 million yuan. In Hunan, the affected population was 366,000, with 1,800 evacuees, two deaths, two missing, and direct economic losses of 234 million yuan. In Guizhou, 33,000 people were affected, 4,200 people were evacuated, three died due to landslides, and direct economic losses were 20 million yuan.
