Beijing (CNS) -- "The global economy is gloomy, especially in Europe. Most business opportunities now exist in the huge Chinese market," said Zheng Xuefei, an overseas Chinese who operates a foreign trade company in Hungary.

Since China adopted reform and opening-up policy in 1978, more and more mainland Chinese have gone abroad, settled down, and started their own businesses, forming a new category of overseas Chinese.

Today, as China's economy is growing strong, they increasingly turn their eyes back to the motherland for business opportunities.

Ma Yun, who immigrated to Japan in 1992 when he was 17, is now considering an organic vegetable plantation in China for his next venture. He plans to dispatch supplies of fresh, healthy vegetables to the Chinese dining table via internet sales.

Dong Li, a 46 year old Los Angeles resident, used to sell Chinese products to the US market but has recently started paying attention to China's domestic markets. "In terms of our product sales, exports take up 66 percent and the domestic market accounts for 45 percent. But it is the domestic market that has the high rate of growth," Dong said.
