Shanghai (CNS) -- A recent product inspection in Shanghai found that 81.7 percent of children's garments and 81.25 percent of toys met quality standards, the Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision announced during a routine press meeting on Monday.

The inspection also covered bassinets, children's shoes, books and diapers, most of which passed muster.

The sample covered many local manufacturers and included indications such as direction for use, fiber content, methanol content and PH value.

Some foreign brands did not pass inspection because of incorrect fiber content labels or overly high PH values.
