Hong Kong (CNS) -- The Hong Kong-Shanghai Future Leaders Internship Program 2012 was co-launched on Thursday by the Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Exchange Promotion Association, Hong Kong University (HKU) and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce.

Foreign banks as well as leading real estate, finance, industrial, consulting and law firms in Shanghai, will offer 7-week summer positions to 30 future leaders selected from 400 HKU applicants.

A senior student from the 2011 program who enrolled in the investment department of the Fosun Group will also participate in this year's program at McKinsey Consulting. Exposures to important projects and contacts with accomplished CEOs have greatly broadened his horizon, he said.

Internships are very beneficial to Hong Kong students hunting for jobs on the mainland, said Director Herman Chan with HKU Careers and Placement.
